On the third weekend in May, without fail each year, Capdepera Castle takes a step back in time turning once again into what it was in the past: a mediaeval fortress full of music and life.
The celebrations begin on Friday 18th in the morning and continue over the whole weekend until finishing on Sunday with the now traditional closing batucada music and the mediaeval concert and dance led by the Gabellina Choir and Estudi de Dansa Stylo (8 pm).
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 10 am the doors to the market open, and within a few minutes later it is a bustling scene: numerous craftspersons decked out in 14th-century outfits will make embroideries, ceramics, engravings, jewellery, siurells, and work iron and metals in front of the public. There will be live music, workshops, traditional dances, humour and games typical of the era.
Every day in the evenings and heading into the night, there will be live mediaeval music concerts, xeremiers, street theatre and juggling, and on Friday there will be a group of dimonis who will perform a show with fireworks called ‘Cap a l’infern’.
Anyone heading to Capdepera this weekend will get to experience and feel how it was to live during the Mediaeval era and enjoy some unforgettable and different moments.
Cap Vermell Group restaurants: Vintage 1934 (Cap Vermell Beach Hotel) and Hedonist Club (Cap Vermell Country Club), and also the four different dining options at Park Hyatt Mallorca, all located in Canyamel, a coastal resort in Capdepera, invite you to take a break from the popular fiesta to relax in front of the sea or surrounded by nature and enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner before continuing with the celebrations.Mallorca
