Today, Cap Vermell Group has presented a cheque for the value of 7,104 euros to Fundación Projecte Home Balears, one of the most active foundations in the Balearics. The entire sum of this money, as confirmed by Tomeu Català, founder of the association, will go towards the Projecte Jove, aimed at young people aged between 14 and 23.
Antonio Mir, CEO of Cap Vermell Group, accompanied by Fernando Palomino, Chief Executive of the business group, and by the host of Cap Vermell Beach Hotel and the Hedonist Club Restaurant, Tomeu Llull, went to ‘Son Morro’, central base of Projecte Home Balears, to personally hand over the cheque to Tomeu Català. “It is an immense honour and pleasure to once again collaborate with Projecte Home Balears, an association that for years has been disinterestedly fighting and working to improve the lives of very many people with serious problems and at risk of social exclusion”, the top executive of Cap Vermell Group said, and added that “We are delighted to be able today to bring you 7,104 new opportunities for the Projecte Jove programme”.
Meanwhile, the founder of Projecte Home Balears, together with Jesús Mullor, Executive President of the foundation, thanked them warmly for this financial contribution, declaring that initiatives such as these carried out by this business group give second opportunities to people in vulnerable situations and also save lives.
The money handed over, as a charitable gift, is the result of an initiative that began last April in Vintage 1934 and the Hedonist Club, the group’s restaurants.
It was at the beginning of the tourist season when Fernando Palomino, Chief Executive of Cap Vermell Group, devised a dish that was both healthy and flavoursome, the ‘Ensalada Solidaria Cap Vermell’, to be included on the menu of both restaurants. The objective was twofold: to promote a healthy, balanced type of food and, at the same time, to foment solidarity amongst customers.
Fifty percent of the sales price of the ‘Ensalada Solidaria Cap Vermell’ has gone on to subsidise different projects initiated by Projecte Home Balears.
The response of the clients at both Vintage 1934, located in Cap Vermell Beach Hotel, and the Hedonist Club, in Cap Vermell Country Club, was very positive. The initiative was a resounding success and between April and November a total of 1,184 units were consumed.
After presenting the cheque, the Cap Vermell Group team were taken on a guided tour of the ‘Son Morro’ centre to witness first-hand the projects and programmes that are currently being worked on by Projecte Home Balears.Mallorca
