Toni Mir, CEO of Cap Vermell Group, delivered a cheque in the amount of 1800 euros today to Jaume Coll, Chairman of Aspanob (Balearic Island Association of Parents of Children with Cancer). This donation is the result of the charity action organised throughout the Christmas holidays by the group Cap Vermell along with the hotel Park Hyatt Mallorca (Canyamel).
The campaign ‘Be Different and Charitable: Celebrate with Cinema for a Good Cause’, which invited people to surprise their family and friends with an original and different kind of Christmas greeting, has ended with a total of 4122 full viewings of the film ‘Lo que ocurre en Cap Vermell’. Thus, the business group donated 0.40 euros per viewing and decided to round the figure up to 1800 euros.
The proceeds will be fully received by Aspanob (Balearic Island Association of Parents of Children with Cancer), an organisation that has been working for more than 30 years to improve the medical, psychological, social and care conditions of children aged 0-18 from the Balearic Islands with this disease.
The campaign, which began on 15th December and ended on 7th January, was quite the social media success. It got hundreds of likes on the Cap Vermell and Park Hyatt Mallorca Facebook pages and nearly 2000 likes and more than 500 reposts on their Instagram accounts. They also received an endless number of positive comments praising the quality and beauty of the work done by filmmaker Roberto Pérez Toledo on the Cap Vermell Group YouTube page, the platform where the film can now be seen.
The medium-length film ‘Lo que ocurre en Cap Vermell’ is a story of falling in and out of love, human relations and chance encounters with exceptional characters. It captures a series of moments, all related to each other in some way, which occur in the exact same place, Cap Vermell, a paradise and exceptional destination where anything can happen. The film, directed by Canary Island native Roberto Pérez Toledo, starring Majorcan actor Toni Sastre and sponsored by Cap Vermell Group, was filmed last May at Cap Vermell, an exceptional area of Mallorca surrounded by nature and the sea.Cap Vermell
